The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through the General Secretariat of Fisheries, has processed the payment files of the aid provided for in the Royal Decree 956/2017, of November 3, which establishes the regulatory framework for aid to professional organizations in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.

These grants were convened on May 27, 2019 for the payment of production and marketing plans for 2016 and 2017 and the creation of new producer organizations. A total of 8 producer organizations have benefited in 2016 and 2017, for an amount of 4.16 million euros.

In addition, support has been paid to create a new producer organization, corresponding to the first annuity and up to a maximum of 5 annuities, for an amount of 100,000 euros.

Subsequently, on September 13, 2019, the aid for the payment of the production and marketing plans of 2018 was convened. In this case, a total of 9 producer organizations have requested help, for an amount of 3.39 million Euros

Guarantee the operability of producer organizations

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has allocated the necessary resources for the processing of these aid files that were pending payment, so as to guarantee the operability and competitiveness of our producer organizations.

Producer organizations are the cornerstone of the Common Market Organization of fishery and aquaculture products, helping to ensure the environmental, economic and social sustainability of our fisheries sector.
