La portavoz del GPP en el Congreso de los Diputados, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo

Headlines:

  1. We celebrate that the TC has admitted and processed to plenary session the appeal of the PP on the compliance formulas chosen by dozens of deputies last legislature, when the session of constitution of the Chambers became a
coven of unconstitutionality. A charge cannot be sworn with a formula that invalidates the oath itself. It is not a purely formal question, because this is where the legitimacy and strength of a democratic system starts.

  2. Twitching and ultras are those who allow themselves the unusual license to decide who are or are not moderate or democratic. Those who hand out Democrats' cards. It is something that must be dismantled and denounced.

  3. Tomorrow we will ask for Marlaska's disapproval for making an illegal decision and dismissing a Civil Guard colonel for complying with the law. When that happens, the one with the most serious problem is the minister.

  4. We are seriously concerned about the process of erosion of institutions by the Government and its partners. All the institutions that support our democratic system are being undermined, attacked and under siege: State Attorney General, State Attorney, CNI, CIS, RTVE. And the FyCSE harassed, sometimes vilified.

  5. To these is added the Head of State, the pillar of our constitutional state. The last episode was in Navarra, where the PSOE and its partners decided to remove a portrait of the King Emeritus of the Parliament of Navarre for his alleged
activities. The presumption of innocence is seen to be valid for some, not others. The PSOE is adding, some days yes others no, to the siege of the Crown of what I call false republicans, because the King, as head of the State of the
Democratic Spain embodies the three great republican values: Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. With these gestures the PSOE betrays itself and its own values.

  6. Minister Campo's statements on the political situation when he spoke of a constitutional crisis are unusual. Until now the expression constitutional crisis had been used by Podemos, which seems to be the party that sets the standard
ideological of this Government. And the declared enemies of constitutional Spain, nationalists of different fur.

  7. This presumed constitutional crisis is not, it is an ideological and political crisis of the Spanish left that is absolutely ready to do anything in order to remain in power. Even erode, undermine the Spanish constitutional model. We have
asked for the appearance of the Minister of Justice to clarify those statements.

  8. I praise the final report of the prosecutor Carballo against the former head of the Mossos Josep Luis Trapero. It conforms to the factual truth that we all live and reveals the false bite that the Attorney General's Office has introduced in the text to favor Mr. Trapero and prevent him from entering prison.

  9. Case 8-M: We request a Commission of Inquiry to thoroughly investigate what happened: why, when, how, and where. It is not an evaluation Commission to praise the Sánchez-Simón tandem, which is what the Government intends, it is an Investigation Commission to try to understand why Spain is the first country in the world in excess of death.

  10. Instead, T-shirts with the image of the alleged expert Simón are broadcast from government agencies. I wonder: what do they boast about? What do they celebrate? It seems to me an offense to the more than 43,000 Spaniards killed, 16,000 of them volatilized by the Government. The balance of this pandemic is devastating. And that invites reflection, a request for forgiveness and a deeper investigation.

  11. Spain appears again as a different country, it is the old Spanish exceptionalism, the old Spanish pessimism. Spain was a model of reconciliation and an example of modernization in the Transition and throughout these 40 years of openness, reforms and responsibility. Reforms and responsibility are the two great attributes that must be put in place.

  12. Sánchez appealed this weekend to patriotism and asked the PP, especially patriotism. Does Pedro Sánchez really dare to speak of patriotism? He who came to the Presidency of the Government supported by those who staged a coup against Spanish law in 2017, who agrees to repeal the labor reform with a party that does not condemn the murder of 850 Spaniards, which forms a coalition with a party that says that the Constitution is a lock that must be broken, the one that tramps the equality of the Spaniards and their freedom in a Table of negotiation speaking of self-determination and amnesties.

  13. By far, Sánchez is the least patriotic president who has passed through La Moncloa. Mr. Sánchez's only homeland is Pedro Sánchez. Lessons of patriotism to the PP none.

  14. We will continue to work for a true patriotism of responsibility. We call the Spanish to a patriotism of responsibility based on the truth and reformism of the Transition and on an absolute conviction of the strength and capacity of Spain to be among the best and most modern democracies in the world.

  15. The socialist yenka is habitual: I remain distant between democracy and its aggressors, between freedom and servitude, between equality and discrimination. There is no middle ground between the Constitution and the deflagration model of
our freedoms and our constitutional order promoted by the partners of the Government.

  16. I congratulate the United States for the arrest of the figurehead of the narco-dictator Nicolás Maduro, a man who has done business with the hunger of Venezuelans. Zapatero should take note and have detailed explanations to give. Its ambassador Morodo received more than 30 million euros from the Maduro regime, diverted millions of that money to Chavista coffers, and apart from that case there are links that go beyond the Morodo case. Aside from becoming a disgrace as a former president, he is going to have to give deep explanations.
