The 26-year-old goalkeeper comes from Paris Saint-Germain and is world champion with France.

Alphonse Areola (Paris, France, 02/27/1993) is a new Real Madrid player. The 26-year-old goalkeeper joins the white club from Paris Saint-Germain, where he has contributed to the conquest of 11 titles in recent years. Absolute international with France, he was part of the 2018 world champion team in Russia.

Formed in the lower categories of the PSG, he debuted with the first team in the 2012/13 campaign. He continued his career at Lens, where he achieved promotion to Ligue 1 in the 2013/14 season and was elected best goalkeeper in Ligue 2 by the UNFP (National Union of Professional Footballers). After defending Bastia in the highest category of French football in 2014/15, he arrived in Spain. In Villarreal he completed a great 2015/16 campaign, in which he was a key piece to reach the semifinals of the Europa League and be in fourth position in the championship. In addition, he broke the unbeatable record of the Castellón team in the League: 620 minutes without receiving goals.

In the 2016/17 season he returned to PSG, where he has played more than 100 games and won three Leagues, two Cups, four Super Cups and two League Cups. Successes that join the World Cup that he achieved with France in 2018 and the U-20 World Cup that he conquered in 2013. In this last championship he was protagonist in the final, since he stopped two pitches of the penalty shootout that gave the victory to France against Uruguay.
