The president of Cs insists that "if the self-employed cannot work, neither can they pay taxes or fees"
The president of Ciudadanos (Cs), Inés Arrimadas, has asked the Government that measures "so important, that affect millions of families, not be taken with improvisation" but that they be "agreed with the political forces and the social agents", in reference to the last decision of the Executive in the Covid-19 crisis. This request was made during a telematic press conference. Arrimadas has insisted on the importance of "unity and consensus" in these difficult times. For this reason, the Cs leader considers it essential that "Sánchez hold a telematic meeting with political leaders."
"If the self-employed cannot work, they cannot pay taxes or fees either," he said. In this sense, the leader of the orange formation has assured that tomorrow it will send a document to the Government again with economic measures in which they will ask for more support from the self-employed so that they "do not have the only way out of ceasing their activity." He also explained that the document includes sanitary measures. "We believe that it is urgent that tests begin not only to detect who is infected, but also to identify which people have overcome the disease and whether they can rejoin their activities, such as, for example, the health workers," he said.
Likewise, the liberal leader has explained that the Party's Permanent Committee has been constituted and that they have approved that "the V General Assembly be held electronically" since "in exceptional circumstances, exceptional measures must be taken," she added. Arrimadas has also announced that "those affiliates whose income has been reduced by an ERTE or dismissal, and the self-employed without activity will not have to pay the dues during the State of Alarm".
At the same time, the also president of the Parliamentary Group of Citizens (GPCs) has vindicated the need for "more mechanisms for parliamentary coordination and control to be put in place electronically so that the Government listens more to the opposition and to the social agents."
