The Governing Committee of the FROB agreed at the meeting held yesterday to appoint Belén Romana as president of Sareb (Management Company for Assets from Bank Restructuring), thus ratifying the proposal raised by the Appointments Committee. Likewise, the Governing Committee has elected Walter de Luna as Sareb's General Director, at the proposal of the aforementioned Appointments Committee. Both appointments must be submitted, for ratification, to the Sareb Board of Directors, once it has been established.

Belén Romana, graduated in Economic Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid, is currently General Secretary of the Círculo de Empresarios and member of the Banesto board of directors. Previously, she had been Director of Operational Control and Head of Strategy at the ONO Group (2008-2010) and Director of the Business Department of the Círculo de Empresarios (2005-2008). Previously, she was Director General of the Treasury and Financial Policy between 2003 and 2005 and Director General of Economic Policy between 2000 and 2003.

Walter de Luna has a degree in Business Administration and Law from the Comillas Pontifical University and a PhD in Business Economics and Finance from the Complutense University of Madrid. From the year 2000 to the present he has developed his professional career in the ING Bank group, as General Manager in Spain and Portugal of ING Real State Finance. Previously, he had worked for eight years in the Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa group, first as Director of Finance in the real estate company Grupo Filo and since 1995 as General Director of the Ascorp business finance company.
