The Confederation of Business Associations of the Balearics (CAEB) and Banco Santander convene the IV Edition of the CAEB-Santander Awards for Business Innovation for SMEs with which “we promote the efforts of companies, especially SMEs, to adapt to the Fourth industrial revolution that we are currently living and that is absolutely linked to digitalization and we recognize and value small and medium-sized companies that are committed to innovation as a consolidation and growth strategy, ”said CAEB President Carmen Planas, who He added that "SMEs are the main protagonists of the Balearic economy and make up the vast majority of companies associated with CAEB."

The deadline for submission of applications is open until October 31, 2019 at 3pm. An expert commission will select the finalist companies, which will be convened on November 29 to defend their candidacy before the jury, which will be chaired by Carmen Planas, president of CAEB, and Celia Torrebadella, territorial director of Banco Santander in the Balearics and that, that same day will announce the ruling designating the winning company.

Companies with between 1 and 250 workers who have offered a new product or service considered innovative, or who have developed some type of innovative action to improve their business management, productivity and competitiveness can opt for this recognition.

This IV Edition of the CAEB-SANTANDER Awards for Business Innovation also incorporates a distinction, with economic endowment, for the business organization in which the winning company is integrated. "The objective is to promote recognition of the involvement of business organizations in the promotion of innovation as a factor of competitiveness and the support offered to their associates to qualify for this award," said Carmen Planas.

The CAEB-Santander Awards for Business Innovation for SMEs have an economic endowment of € 3,000 for the winning SME and € 1,000 for the business organization that sponsors it. In addition, CAEB may propose to the finalists and winners as applicants in calls for prizes related to Innovation within the national scope.

It should be noted that the winner of the III Edition of the CAEB – Santander Awards for Business Innovation was the candidacy presented by Cut & Go, member of GSBIT (Associació Balear d'Empreses de Software Internet i Noves Tecnologies), which has been awarded for its "Project Factory 4.0" of design and production of elements for architecture, decoration, interior design, art, fashion, marketing, etc.

And it should also be remembered that one of the companies that was a finalist of the II Edition of the Awards in April 2017, specifically Wireless DNA, ended up receiving the national award 'CEPYME 2017 for Technological Innovation' awarded by the Spanish Confederation of Small and Mediana Empresa (CEPYME), an organization of which CAEB is a member and part of its executive committee.

Candidacies

Prize applicants must submit a report of a maximum of 5 pages in digital format (Word or pdf), using the template provided by CAEB and available in the following link, in which the bases that are already published on the CAEB website are explained.

As a complement to this report, a video of a maximum of 3 minutes and documentation proving the innovative actions carried out may be provided. Pre-registration as a candidate for the Prize and the application of the template to be used must be made through this form. The applications must be addressed to misern@caeb.es and the deadline for submission of applications will be until Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.

The presentation of the candidacy implies the acceptance of the bases of this Call and the decision of the Jury, as well as the authorization for the dissemination of the innovative actions, the logo, activity and main achievements of the company.
