The Cs candidate announces initiatives in Congress and in Parliament to sanction animal abuse and neglect
"The‘ Illa effect ’is the chaos effect because it leads us to legal uncertainty and indecision." This is what the head of the opposition and Citizens (Cs) candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Carlos Carrizosa, said after visiting the Lliga per a la protecció d'Animals i Plantes de Barcelona, accompanied by the general secretary of Cs and deputy in Parliament, Marina Bravo, and number 2 of Cs for Barcelona, Anna Grau. Carrizosa has asked the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, to "stop being a part-time minister" and has reproached him for the fact that the Spanish government does not have "a national plan for the autonomous communities" to take measures to combat the pandemic and prevent discrepancies as in Castilla y León with the curfew.
Carrizosa has also been surprised by the PSC's speech about the postponement of the Catalan elections because "first he said that suspending the elections was suspending democracy", when "then they proposed a date that suited them better." He has also criticized the "denialist discourse" of the socialists "saying that one should not be afraid of the virus." The orange leader has defended that it is necessary to “vote calmly” so that “the elections are legitimate” and “not to find an abstention that does not reflect the popular will”, he said.
The Cs candidate has also announced initiatives in the Congress of Deputies and in the Parliament of Catalonia to sanction mistreatment and animal abandonment. In Congress, the orange formation will promote an initiative to contemplate "prison sentences for those who mistreat animals" and, in the Catalan chamber, in the next legislature, a "law for animal welfare" to "sanction with more severity to those who mistreat or abandon animals ”and also to“ favor adoptions ”.
