The head of the opposition affirms that the possible pardons for the "procés" prisoners are the result of "opaque negotiations between parties and seek to pardon people who gave a blow to democracy
"We would like Torra to be working, but he is appearing in court to say he does not recognize them." This has been said by the head of the opposition in Catalonia and president of the Citizens (Cs) group in the Parliament, Carlos Carrizosa, in relation to Quim Torra's statement for an alleged crime of disobedience before the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia ( TSJC). Carrizosa has asked Torra "less to violate the law and not recognize the structures of the State and more to manage for those who need it."
The head of the opposition has pointed out that Torra "represents a state power" and that what he is doing is "telling another state power, the judiciary, that he does not recognize him" and has recalled that his judicial situation is due "to that he has decided to repeatedly break the laws and that is why today he ended up before the TSJC ”. Carrizosa has also warned that the separatist parties "think that they can block and maintain Catalonia in a functioning government" in the face of a hypothetical disqualification of Torra but that "that is not possible because the legislative branch has the duty to replace the president of the Generalitat ”.
On the other hand, Carrizosa has affirmed that Cs opposes possible pardons for the prisoners of the 'procés' because these would be the result of “opaque negotiations between parties and politicians should not pardon politicians”, in addition that “there is talk of pardoning people who gave a blow to democracy and have never asked for forgiveness ”. "These people committed serious damage to Catalan society and even say they will do it again," he has sentenced.
