In the afternoon, also in the framework of the III Forum of the Mipyme, there was a meeting of Young Entrepreneurs, organized by CEAJE and FIJE, in which also participated the president of CEPYME, Gerardo Cuerva and the general director of CEOE International and secretary permanent of CEIB, Narciso Casado.
Public and private sector recommendations
During the joint meeting between the public and private sectors, the SME authorities of the various Ibero-American countries and representatives of business organizations of the Region, shared the conclusions reached in the previous meetings. The public sector assured that the development of digital skills is key and for this it is essential to work in partnerships with business chambers and universities. The importance of collaborating among countries to homogenize the attention processes as far as possible was considered and the idea was to release the digital maturity indexes and be able to work together. Also, they considered that there is a superfluous use of digital tools, they are little used for production. Therefore, they pointed out, it is necessary to develop the knowledge economy to improve the productivity of the different sectors.
Regarding entrepreneurship and innovation, the SME authorities talked about strengthening the generation of data that allows characterizing entrepreneurship in the Region. They also bet on facilitating the formalization processes of nascent ventures, which requires an analysis of the concepts of formality that are being applied in the countries, considering the realities of the new economic activities. In this sense, they chose to promote with greater force the processes of promotion of entrepreneurial culture in the educational systems that allow to advance towards entrepreneurial and innovative societies. Another fundamental aspect, they indicated, is to improve the financial environment, especially in instruments for the first stages of entrepreneurship, and not only through the promotion of seed capital instruments, risk capital, or the participation of angel investors, but through the necessary dialogue with the regulatory entities for the flexibility of risk assessments of the ventures. They also suggested strengthening the accompanying instruments for dynamic ventures that generate added value in the development of new companies.
With regard to the private sector, the business organizations of the Region highlighted the importance of the MSMEs that form the backbone of the economies but find it difficult to coexist with the macroeconomic situations of the environment, which is why it is necessary to adopt specific measures. In this sense, they stressed that technological evolution is not an option but a necessity for the survival of MSMEs. Likewise, they considered it fundamental that the public sector recognizes in its public agendas the measures so that companies can innovate and have budgets according to these measures. The private sector also claims to reduce the legislative system associated with innovation as a measure to guarantee its effectiveness. Finally, they assured that the education and formation of the society must accompany this effort so that the culture of the innovation is integrated spontaneously. In fact, they indicated that business organizations are mediators between companies and public agents in this work.
