The president of CEOE International, Marta Blanco, participated on July 15 in the virtual meeting on the "Influence of borders on professional and business development" to discuss the role of internationalization in the economy, as well as women and its participation in the international context.

The meeting was organized by the Association of Professional Entrepreneurs and Managers of Alicante, in collaboration with ICEX Spain Export and Investments, the Port Authority of Alicante, the Business Confederation of Valencia, the Chamber of Alicante, the Valencian Association of Footwear Entrepreneurs and CEOE .

First, during her speech Marta Blanco highlighted the important role of the foreign sector in the recovery and boost of our economy. Internationalization, which represents 35% of the GDP of our country's economy, is being strongly impacted by the pandemic, so it is essential that measures be adopted to support the business fabric.

In addition, in terms of gender and trade, the president of CEOE International drew attention to the important evolution in the perspective of the work carried out in this field in recent years, where she has gone from a vision of women focused on cooperation development in less developed countries, to a perspective focused on the contribution of women to the competitiveness, innovation and productivity of all economies.

Lastly, the work carried out by CEOE in the framework of the economic empowerment of women was transferred, both nationally with the PROGRESA and PROMOCIONA initiatives, and internationally with the participation of the Confederation in forums such as the B20 Women's Action Council or the G20 private sector alliance EMPOWER.
