The objective of the Congress was to discuss the future of the integration process from an interdisciplinary perspective, addressing the challenges facing the European Union today. Blanco participated in a round table throughout the day, under the slogan "The European single market and trade in a world of transformation." The president of the Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Joaquín Almunia; the general director of the Environment of the European Commission, Daniel Calleja Crespo; the ambassador of Spain, Ramón de Miguel Egea; and the advisor of Airbus, Ámparo Moraleda.

The Congress was inaugurated by the president of the San Pablo CEU Foundation and Grand Chancellor of the CEU San Pablo University, Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza, and then the president of the European Institute of European Studies, Marcelino Oreja, gave a conference on Europe, as a destination and vocation of Spain. A round table was also held to discuss the design of the EU, its institutions, its values ​​and its principles.

The European single market and trade

During her speech, the president of CEOE International, Marta Blanco, stressed the need to improve the business climate in the European Union and to do so through a stronger and more efficient European single market. European companies need the single European market to grow and to be more competitive in international markets.

Two more tables were organized, in which issues such as "Economic government and social Europe" and "The European Union in the world: globalization, common foreign policy and defense" were addressed. The conclusions of the Congress were in charge of the director of the University Institute of European Studies, José María Beneyto and; subsequently, the president of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, Miguel Herrero and Rodríguez de Miñón and the rector of the CEU San Pablo University, Rosa Visedo, took part in the closing session.
