Disbanded in Madrid an international criminal organization dedicated to the smuggling of tobacco and money laundering

· 10 people were arrested in Madrid, Alcorcón, Alcalá de Henares, Meco and Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara) and 48,000 packs of tobacco from 18 different brands were seized
· The organization had a great infrastructure to introduce the tobacco in Spain from different countries, using the airway by using suitcases and the land route through buses and trucks
· Investigators distributed counterfeit tobacco – illegal reproduction of original trademarks – or that lacked the legal requirements – tax form and health warnings –
· The money that the organization received from the smuggling of tobacco was sent abroad, mainly to Bulgaria through human mail, and later entered into Spanish accounts to set up companies and hide the illegal activity
