A total of 11 people who were part of two criminal groups responsible, allegedly, for introducing more than 5,000 kilos of hashish off the coast of Cádiz in the last twelve months have been arrested

The first of the organizations, located in the province of Cádiz, was in charge of offering all the necessary logistical support to other criminal organizations for the introduction of drugs into the national territory.

The second group, settled in Madrid, had resorted to the first to introduce drugs into Spain and, in addition, they were allegedly responsible for sending five hitmen who killed a person in Chipiona (Cádiz) last year

In addition, the operation has prevented the delivery of a large consignment of drugs to a criminal group of Italian origin and has arrested its envoy in Spain

Agents of the Civil Guard and the National Police, in a joint operation called "Saguaro-Tránsito", have carried out the dismantling of a criminal group based in the province of Cádiz specialized in offering all the necessary logistical support to other criminal organizations . In addition, a second organization, based in Madrid, which had hired the services of the first for the introduction of large quantities of narcotic substances into national territory, has been dismantled. Furthermore, the operation prevented the delivery of a large consignment of drugs to a criminal group of Italian origin and its envoy in Spain was arrested.

In the operation, 11 people have been arrested, accused of the alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and crimes against public health, and who are considered allegedly responsible for introducing, in the period of the last twelve months, more 5,000 kilos of hashish by sea through the areas of La Janda and the Northwest Coast of the province of Cádiz.

Organizations settled in the province of Cádiz and Madrid

The joint investigation has dismantled an organization established in the province of Cádiz, mainly in the city of Jerez de la Frontera and also with a presence in Chipiona and Sanlucar de Barrameda, composed mostly of Spanish citizens and specialized in facilitating other criminal groups, both the transport of the substance by sea to cross the strait, as well as the so-called "land support", that is, the concealment of the speedboats as well as the transfer of the substance to its final destinations and its temporary storage in safe locations .

In the same way, the leader and members of a second criminal group, made up of individuals of North African origin and based in different cities in the southern area of the Madrid metropolitan belt, dedicated to the distribution of important drug shipments in different countries of the European Union and that, presumably, had resorted to the former to introduce the substance into national territory.

The agents have confirmed that the group settled in the Autonomous Community of Madrid would have contacted the detainees in Cádiz in order to introduce some 3,000 kilos of hashish through the fishing and sports port of the town of Rota (Cádiz), an action that It would have been carried out last September 2019 with the necessary collaboration of a Port Police agent stationed in the same port.

In addition, the entry into the national territory, through Malaga, of the alleged member of a mafia organization sent from Italy to close a collaboration agreement with the Cadiz group was detected. The agents intercepted a shipment of 930 kilos of hashish at the moment in which It was going to be introduced through the coasts of the municipality of Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz) and, simultaneously, a second landing of about 900 kilos of the same substance was prevented, intercepted by both bodies with the collaboration of the Vigilance Service Customs when they tried to introduce them along the coasts of the province of Huelva, to where they had traveled trying to evade police action.

Hitmen sent from Madrid to Chipiona

Investigators have been able to verify that this drug trafficking operation caused a dispute between both organizations, since the loss of part of the drug caused the Madrid-based organization to blame its own Cadiz partners for these events, sending a group of hitmen of French origin to pay off the debt.

In the month of September of last year 2019, the hitmen sent from Madrid kidnapped and tortured three residents of Chipiona in a very violent way, causing a skull fracture and one of them, allegedly, killed by stabbing him in the chest. They then threw the three bodies, two of them alive, from a moving van on the A-380 highway between the towns of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).

On that occasion, the action of an off-duty agent who witnessed the events and who immediately communicated with the operating room, allowed to establish a device that managed to intercept the vehicles in which the hitmen were fleeing at the height of the municipality of San José de la Rinconada. The last of them continued to flee to the city of Seville where the agents caught up with him and detained him on the streets of the Los Remedios neighborhood of Seville.

Since that date, all those implicated in those events have been in prison, but these arrests helped the Civil Guard and National Police investigators to continue collaborating together with the aim of locating the intellectual authors of this crime and dismantling all organizations. criminals involved.

Eight simultaneous searches and 11 people arrested

Finally, during the early hours of last week, the operation was completed with eight entries and searches carried out simultaneously in the towns of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana de la Frontera and Chipiona, in the province of Cádiz; Getafe in the Community of Madrid; and Fuengirola and Mijas in the province of Malaga.

In the operation, 1,872 kilos of hashish have been intervened, three boats destined to transport the drug – a rigid 11 meter in length seized in the port of Rota, a second type semi rigid glider with an outboard motor of three hundred fifty 350 horses, and a third smaller one with a sixty (60) horsepower engine – in addition to 17,200 euros and 36 telephone terminals, seven of them direct link devices via satellite.
