"For the PP, the defense of the environment and health is a central objective, in Madrid and in any city in Europe"

The MEP of the PP and president of the Petitions Committee of the European Parliament, Dolors Montserrat, has stressed the importance of working together against pollution, because "this fight admits neither divisions nor delays, our priority is the health of all Europeans."
During a debate in the Plenary of the European Parliament on air pollution in European cities, Montserrat has ensured that "the fight against pollution is neither the heritage of the left nor of any political ideology."
"In Spain we are too tired," he added, "that the left should always take on the merits of others and of shared merits; yesterday feminism, and today the environment. "
As an example of this he pointed out that "Madrid and Barcelona have been governed in the last four years by the left, that left unable to implement effective measures against pollution, and now they come to give us lessons. If they come, come to recognize their inability to fight pollution. "
"For the Popular Party," Montserrat has stressed, "the defense of the environment and health is a central objective, in Madrid and in any city in Europe."
The popular MEP has defended the need to "work together to achieve efficient results" in the reduction of pollution, because "it is not enough to partially restrict traffic if there are still polluting heating boilers".
"It is necessary to use more alternative fuels, improve public transport and renew the car park," he insisted.
Montserrat has also advocated facing the challenge of protecting the environment by involving citizens and applying global policies with political and social consensus.
