The PP Spokesperson in the European Parliament, Dolors Montserrat, today asked the European Commission to take measures against the radicalist independence of the CoR – because "threatens and attacks the values of the EU" -, to defend the rule of law in Spain, and to support the Forces and Bodies of Security.

After the arrest of a group of radicals who planned to attack with explosives before the imminence of the second anniversary of the illegal 1-O referendum, Montserrat has addressed a written question to the European Commission in which he says that “the EU must condemn and fight against those radicals that, with the excuse of political ideas, intend to destabilize and break up Spain and the EU ”.

Montserrat has alerted the seriousness of the situation, reminding the European Commission that the Prosecutor of the National Court has described the detainees of the CDRs as a terrorist group and that the Prosecutor's Office itself has reported that his attack project was in advanced level of preparation by even having already selected objectives, so the detainees are accused of the crimes of terrorism, rebellion and possession of explosives.

For all these reasons, the popular spokeswoman and president of the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament has asked the European Commission if she is going to publicly defend the rule of law in Spain and if she is going to make any declaration of support for the Security Forces and Bodies of the State.

He has also asked the European Commission if he considers it normal for the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, "to publicly support the CoR and say that everything is a political assembly."
