In this sense, Dolors Montserrat He has assured that the PP "will not allow any cut in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) or in the EU cohesion funds" and therefore will work to correct the current proposal.
"The agricultural and livestock sector is key for Spain and for society as a whole, as has been shown once again during the coronavirus crisis, and we cannot accept that it is harmed by the intention of reducing the general amount of the budgets of the EU ”, Montserrat explained regarding a cut that according to the agrarian organizations could mean the loss of 5,000 million euros for the sector.
The popular spokeswoman has also pointed out that "Sánchez has not explained that he has accepted these cuts for the Spanish countryside at the last European Council."
"Sánchez has taken refuge in the general agreement on the recovery fund and on the community budgets to avoid giving details about these cuts and assuming his responsibility," added Montserrat.
Regarding the recovery fund, the popular spokesperson has assured that it is a good agreement, which was promoted by the European People's Party, and recalled that "the European solidarity that these aid will entail must be accompanied by ambitious national reforms to recover economic activity and create employment, which is the best social policy ”.
