Tiana, who recalled during her speech the measures adopted to guarantee the development of the third term and the end of the course despite extraordinary circumstances, highlighted the "fruitful collaboration" between the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and the Autonomous Communities, that it demonstrates "that the constitutional procedure of collaboration between the Administrations with competences in the matter of education has worked efficiently, smoothly and satisfactorily".
The Secretary of State recalled the agreements reached in the different Sector Conferences held throughout these months, especially the agreements of the Sector Conference of June 11 for the start and development of the 2020-21 academic year that establish the lines of work so that the next course is "face-to-face, safe and healthy".
Tiana has also underlined other initiatives carried out by the MEFP during this time to guarantee the continuity of education, serve the most vulnerable students and provide resources to educational administrations, such as the transfer of 2,000 million non-refundable euros to the autonomous communities increased funding for scholarships and study grants (22% more in the next call), the Educa en Digital program ─260 million euros to improve digitization─ and the upcoming launch of the cooperation program territorial denominated PROA + (20-21), destined to provide orientation, advancement and educational enrichment to those centers supported with public funds with greater complexity and worse situation of their students.
Commitment to Vocational Training to change the production model
For her part, the General Secretary for Vocational Training, Clara Sanz, has reviewed the lines of action set forth in the I Strategic Plan for Vocational Training approved by the Executive last November and which has as a principle joint work with all agents involved. "We have a clear objective, to modernize and consolidate VT as a successful teaching associated with talent, innovation and employability and improving the competitiveness of our companies. Vocational Training can change the production model," said Clara Sanz.
The flexibility of these teachings, the streamlining of the training design procedures, the expansion and updating of degrees in accordance with the needs of the labor market, the digitization or regulation of Dual FP have been some of the activities analyzed.
The Secretary General has highlighted the need to reduce the high number of people who lack accreditation of their professional skills in Spain. "That the administration put in place a simple procedure to recognize professional skills and facilitate reintegration into the labor market is key to the social and economic reconstruction of the country in a situation like the present one," said Clara Sanz.
