Communication from the agency to adjust to the extension of the alarm state and its possible future extensions

The extension of Royal Decree 463/2020 of March 14, declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, approved this Wednesday in the Congress of Deputies, requires updating the actions included in the previous statement from the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) and prolong them until this situation is terminated.

Therefore, the measures adopted by this body are the following:

  • Extension of closure of our scenic spaces (National Music Auditorium, the Zarzuela Theater, the Comedy Theater, the María Guerrero Theater and the Valle-Inclán Theater), as well as our Documentation Center for the Performing Arts and Music (CDAEM), National Theater Museum, Show Technology Center (CTE) Y Magalia Palace until its activity can be resumed, guaranteeing the health of our workers, spectators, students and users.
  • Cancellation of all shows scheduled by INAEM units affected by the closure of our venues (except for the cycle New Italian scene, which in principle moves to the beginning of June).
  • The staggered refund of the price of the affected towns for these cancellations. In the case of tickets purchased online, the refund will be made automatically the day after the scheduled date for the show. On the other hand, those locations purchased by phone or at the box office will be returned at the box office of the venue where the canceled activity was held when our scenic spaces are reopened to the public.
  • The suspension of ticket sales through all our channels (on-line, telephone and box office) of the shows affected by the temporary closure of our scenic spaces.

The adoption of these measures is subject to the evolution of this extraordinary situation and is liable to be suspended or modified according to the guidelines of the health authorities.
