Both organizations continue in this way the work and support of previous editions through actions that value the internationalization and innovation of the food and beverage industry, as the country's first industrial sector. In addition, for the first time, this year FIAB will dedicate a space to the sustainability of the sector.

A showcase for the internationalization and innovation of the sector
FIAB arrives at Alimentaria to highlight the strategic value of the sector and the vital importance it has for the socio-economic development of our country. Therefore, the Federation and Food have designed a complete program of activities focused on making these values visible and turning the Fair into a center for the projection of innovation and internationalization as the main axes of competitiveness for the sector.
Thus, FIAB will develop ALIBER, a fundamental scenario for the R&D of the sector, in which the challenges and opportunities facing the industry in terms of innovation are addressed. This program will be developed in The Alimentaria HUB space and will bring together professionals from the sector in R + D + I meetings, international conference cycles and conferences aimed at the exchange of knowledge.
The Fair will also be the setting for the presentation of the Ecotrophelia Spain 2020 Awards, the European competition among university students that rewards the creation of eco-innovative products. In addition, visits to industries will be made, as well as a gastronomic route through the Fair with innovation as the protagonist.
Within the internationalization, FIAB will have in this edition the grouped pavilion of gourmet exporting companies Excellence of Spain, born with the idea of being a meeting point between public and private, national and international institutions, as well as the associations of the Federation and industry companies.
The Federation will also collaborate with Alimentaria and ICEX in the invitation program for international buyers Hosted Buyer.
A Alimentaria that is committed to revitalization and sustainability
As a novelty in this edition, FIAB will include within its activity a day dedicated to sustainability, where national and international speakers will present the advances of the sector in this area, in line with their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The future of plastics and sustainable agri-food systems will be some of the topics to be discussed on this day that will feature representatives from industry, distribution, NGOs and the European and national administration.
