Foreign and Trade reaffirm the Government's objective of reinforcing the Spanish presence in Africa


The meeting was opened by Arancha González Laya, who pointed out that "Africa is a priority for the Government of Spain. We want to translate the African priority into concrete actions, in a joint effort by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Trade to build long-term opportunities for Spanish companies and for the economic growth of the continent. The launch of the African Free Trade Area, the largest on the planet, and the next EU-Africa summit, offer opportunities that we want to work on. "

Reyes Maroto presented the main lines of "Horizon Africa", a commercial and financial strategy to support the internationalization of Spanish companies in the African market and favor a growing and solid Spanish presence on the continent: "The strategy includes measures of public support with two axes, institutional and financial, through which we want to contribute to increasing and reinforcing the competitiveness of exports and investments ".

The meeting allowed working on institutional presence, financing instruments, mobility and legal security instruments on the continent. Representatives from TSK, AEE Power, Caixabank, FCC Aqualiad, Consultrans, Acciona, Abengoa, Indra and Rufepa participated in the meeting.
