Foreign assists 35 Spaniards who return to Spain from South Africa

González Laya reiterates the call to avoid trips that are not essential and the return of Spanish tourists

The group of Spaniards, who thanks to diplomatic assistance in Pretoria today lands in Frankfurt (Germany), will also coincide with five other tourists who in this case return to Europe on a flight from Germany and who come from Trinidad and Tobago (three of them ) and Barbados (the other two) .A new flight has also arrived from Latin America today with 250 Spaniards from Argentina, which will be followed by three new flights in the following days thanks to the efforts of the Spanish Embassy in Argentina.

Meanwhile, the network of Embassies and Consulates continue to facilitate the return of Spaniards who were caught abroad by the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and who, finally, are already on their way to their homes. That is the case of two Spaniards who were in Cairo (Egypt) and who could fly to Paris to take their connecting flights to Spain; Five other Spaniards also arrived in Paris from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia); two other Spaniards will travel from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Sofia (Bulgaria) to follow Madrid; as well as two others have arrived in Frankfurt from Vietnam on a flight chartered by Germany.

From the Philippines, and after direct management of the Spanish Embassy with the Ministry of Defense, a comprehensive device has also been put in place that has allowed a Spanish family (father, mother and three-year-old daughter who had previously rejected leaving the country) leaving from Boracay in a Philippine Air Force helicopter bound for Lloilo, where they have boarded a military plane to Cebu and, subsequently, be airlifted to Manila from where they will fly to Paris and then link to Seville. Those who are already closer to home thanks to the efforts of the Spanish Consulate are the three Spaniards who yesterday embarked on a flight organized by France and two others who were part of the passage of other flights chartered by the United Kingdom.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation maintains permanent contact with all those travelers who want to return to Spain and for whom it works in search of solutions. For those who find that departure delayed, it is also looking for accommodation alternatives and one of those who are receiving an excellent reception is Aloja, through which travelers can contact residents abroad to receive accommodation if the two parties become agree.
