Government and civil service unions meet and lay the foundations to initiate dialogue and negotiation in this legislature


This first contact has laid the foundations of a legislature that will be chaired by dialogue and negotiation, with the aim of reaching agreements to guarantee and improve the rights of public employees and the quality of services to citizens.

Together with Minister Carolina Darias, the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy and Public Function, Francisco Hernández Spínola, the General Secretary of Public Function, Javier Rueda, and the General Director of Public Function, Isabel Borrel, attended the meeting.

On the part of the unions, Francisco José García Suárez, general secretary of the Teaching Federation and coordinator of the unions CCOO Public Area, Frederic Monell, Secretary of Organization and Communication of the Federation of Public Services (FSP) -UGT, and Miguel Borra, national president of CSIF.

Negotiation and monitoring tables in March

At the meeting, the Government and union representatives have agreed to convene in March the monitoring commission of the II Government-Trade Unions Agreement for the improvement of public employment and the working conditions corresponding to the years 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The month of March will also convene the General Negotiating Table of the General State Administration, which will resume the social dialogue in this new term.

Both the Government and the union representatives have agreed that this first meeting has taken place with cordiality and in a climate that encourages further progress in improving public service in our country and in the work to guarantee and expand the rights of employees and Public employees.
