Grande-Marlaska presents the 2021 solidarity calendar of the Civil Guard
In this sixth edition, the profits obtained from its sale will go to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL), an initiative that fights against hunger, poverty and food waste by using it and distributing it among the most needy people.

The presentation of the sixth solidarity calendar of the Civil Guard, an event held at the headquarters of the General Directorate of the body, was attended by the Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Pérez; the general director of the institution, María Gámez; the general director of FESBAL, Miguel Fernández, and many of the civil guards who have collaborated in the elaboration of the calendar.
Food banks arrived in Spain in 1987. Nine years later FESBAL was born, which in 2012 received the Prince of Asturias Award for Concord. Today, this federation brings together 54 centers throughout the national territory that preserve the same spirit with which they were founded half a century ago. The food or income obtained by these banks goes to charitable organizations that are, ultimately, the distributed among the neediest people.
Grande-Marlaska has congratulated the General Directorate of the Civil Guard for this election, since “thanks to the food banks, the food surpluses generated by advanced modern societies satisfy the primary needs of those social groups to which those same societies they abandon on the shores of progress ”.
The Minister of the Interior thanked all the agents who have participated in the elaboration of the calendar and praised "the vision of solidarity and commitment of the corporate strategy of the Civil Guard, imbued with social values that coincide with those that defend initiatives such as the from food banks ”.
In previous editions, the profits from the sale of the Civil Guard solidarity calendar were destined to the Down Syndrome Foundation Madrid (2016), the Juegaterapia Foundation (2017), the non-governmental organization Rosa del Desierto (2018), the Hospital Foundation National of Paraplegics of Toledo (2019) and the DEBRA Association – Butterfly Skin (2020).
The solidarity calendar of the Civil Guard is one of the initiatives included in the field of corporate social responsibility of the institution. The 2021 edition, already on sale for a price of five euros, includes photographs of civil guards belonging to units such as Citizen Security, Criminalistics Service, Rural Action Group, Maritime Service, Mountain Service, Air Service, Cynological Service, Group of Traffic, Reserve and Security Groups, Seprona, Explosives Deactivation and Defense Service CBRN, Special Group of Underwater Activities and Cavalry Squad.
