The Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Pérez Ruiz, and the president of the Malaga Port Authority, Carlos Rubio Basabe, have signed this Friday the agreement that gives the Ministry of the Interior a plot of land to build a building for the barracks of the Civil Guard in the port of the Andalusian capital. The general director of the body, María Gámez, has attended the signing of the agreement.

The objective of this agreement is to regulate the occupation of the port public domain after the construction of the new building, where the offices of the Fiscal Section of the Civil Guard will be located in the Port of Malaga.

The transfer of the Civil Guard units will be to a plot also owned by the Port Authority. The budget for the award of the work is almost 1,376,000 euros. The transfer will allow the Port Authority to promote future actions in the area where the Civil Guard facilities are currently located, which will be evicted, as part of the office project envisaged in the Special Plan for the integration of the port and the city.

The new facilities will be built on a 2,854 m2 plot, with a ground floor, first floor and terrace distribution. Between 70 and 80 agents from different units of the Civil Guard will work there, such as the Fiscal Section, the Port Security Section, the Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS) and the Cynological Service.
