The investigated driver carried out two overtaking maneuvers despite observing that a vehicle was circulating in the opposite direction, forcing both the vehicle ahead and the one circulating in the opposite direction to stop.

All this in a section configured in a closed curve without visibility, whose maximum speed was 40 km / h, with the road wet and without the vehicles having any escape since the left margin is delimited by a rocky slope, and the right margin by a concrete wall

The Civil Guard has investigated a driver for an alleged crime against road safety by making two overtaking with manifest recklessness at kilometer point 402 of the N-260 road (Port Bou – Sabiñanigo), belonging to the municipality of Seira (Huesca) .

The investigation began thanks to the collaboration of an ertzaina, who had a video camera installed on the dashboard of his vehicle, with which he recorded how the investigated person performed a maneuver to overtake a vehicle on a section with hardly any visibility.

Despite noticing the presence of another car that was circulating in the opposite direction, without there being enough space to carry out the maneuver without danger, far from giving up, I continued in my endeavor, overtaking a Suzuki brand SUV, both drivers having, when warning the purpose of the investigated, that to carry out each maneuvers of stop in dry so as not to collide with the investigated vehicle.

These maneuvers take place in a closed curve without visibility, whose maximum speed was 40 km / h, with the road wet, and without the vehicles having any escape since the left margin is delimited by a rocky slope and the right margin by a concrete wall.
