The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation in office, Josep Borrell, has held a meeting with the executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, at the Palace of Santa Cruz.
During the meeting, both have had the opportunity to congratulate themselves for the close collaboration that Spain has maintained since 2007 with ECLAC and to highlight our interest in the fact that this organization continues to be a strategic partner.
Minister Josep Borrell and Executive Secretary Bárcena have reviewed the various ECLAC programs financed by Spain in the areas of development of competencies in public management, gender equality, fiscal policy and social cohesion. Likewise, new lines of work have been explored, reinforcing our support for the activities organized by the Latin American Institute of Economic and Social Planning of ECLAC.
Finally, it has been jointly addressed the Comprehensive Development Plan El Salvador-Guatemala-Honduras-Mexico, reaffirming the commitment of Spain in the definition of the programs and projects that will configure it, especially those that have a regional focus and character.
