The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation in office, Josep Borrell, participated in this meeting held on July 8 and 9 in High Tatra, in Slovakia.
A total of 24 foreign ministers, the top representatives of the Organization and numerous delegates from the 57 participating States have debated the role of the OSCE to improve security and stability in Europe.
Minister Borrell pointed out that, in the current security scenario, the possibilities that the OSCE offers should not be wasted due to its composition and its integral concept of security.
The minister recalled the determined and generous commitment of Spain for an active and effective multilateralism that allows us to face global challenges that demand common responses.
Ministers have informally discussed the main conflicts on the European continent, especially on the situation in Ukraine, the South Caucasus and the Balkans.
Minister Borrell stressed that the so-called protracted conflicts must be addressed in a spirit of understanding, taking into account their effects on the affected populations and respecting the principle of territorial integrity.
On the occasion of the meeting, the minister has held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Northern Macedonia, Albania, Andorra and Kazakhstan.
