Lieutenant Colonel Silvia Gil will be the first woman to take charge of a Civil Guard Command

The Secretary of State for Security has assigned him to the head of the Civil Guard Command of Teruel

Until now, the lieutenant colonel was on a duty commission in the United Nations Detachment in Colombia. In addition, she has been assigned to the Technical Office of the General Directorate, in the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Section (SEREIM) of Cangas de Onís (Asturias), in the Traffic Subsector of Las Palmas, among other destinations

Lieutenant Colonel Silvia Gil will take charge of the Civil Guard Command in Teruel, once assigned by the Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Pérez, at the proposal of the General Director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez. The lieutenant colonel will thus be the first woman to take over a command in the Corps.

Until now, Lieutenant Colonel Silvia Gil was a commissioner of the United Nations Detachment in Colombia. Silvia Gil obtained the job of lieutenant in 2001 after studying at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza and the Academy of Civil Guard Officers in Aranjuez (Madrid).
His first assignment as a lieutenant was the Vecindario post (Las Palmas); later she was assigned to the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Section (SEREIM) of Cangas de Onís (Asturias), being the first female officer in charge of a mountain area. She was also appointed as Captain in the Las Palmas Traffic Subsector, where she was also the head of a subsector for the first time; and her last assignment as Commander has been in the Technical Office of the General Directorate of the Civil Guard, where she was the promoter of the First Equality Plan in the Civil Guard.
Silvia Gil has a Law Degree and a University Degree in Legal Sciences and Public Administrations, a Diploma in General Staff, a Master in Security, a Master in Gender Studies and a PhD candidate in Feminist and Gender Studies, among other courses.
At the international level, she has been a professor of Traffic for the Palestinian police within the framework of a bilateral cooperation agreement with AECID in the West Bank; Liaison officer of the Civil Guard with the School of Officers of the French National Gendarmerie (EOGN) in Melun; and Liaison Officer of the European Union Border Management Mission (EUBAM RAFAH) in Palestine.
He is in possession of various decorations such as the Silver Cross and the White Badge of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard and the Cross of Police Merit, and Crosses of Military Merit, the Royal Cross and the Military Order of San Hermenegildo, among others. In addition, he has the European Security and Defense Political Service Medal.
