Macarena Olona, deputy for Granada and deputy spokesperson of the VOX Parliamentary Group, has requested the appearances in Congress of the Minister of the Interior and the deputy delegate of the Government in Granada due to a manifest negligence in the way in which the transfer of immigrants has been organized From the Canary Islands to our province, a trip without apparent health control that endangers the lives of the people of Granada by not taking the appropriate measures to avoid contagion by COVID19. “Are they appealing for humanitarian reasons? May the Minister of the Interior welcome you into his home. "
“We ask to clarify the arrival -this Monday- of some 200 immigrants to Granada from the Canary Islands, facts that have been denounced by the Unified Police Union (SUP) because these people traveled to the province without performing PCR tests, without sanitary measures. and putting the health of the agents who have participated in the transfer at risk, ”Macarena Olona has censored.
The VOX deputy for Granada explained that “all Spaniards are complying with the legality and the schedules established by the curfew, as well as abiding by the mobility restrictions between municipalities and the rest of the provinces, limitations that Grenadians are showing that they comply, and have also suffered from the closure of businesses in the hotel and trade sector. That sacrifice may come to nothing if the Government now transfers people to the province without any type of control or the assurance that they are not infected by COVID-19, as evidenced in a viral video on social networks.
Macarena Olona recalled that in August “we visited the Víznar youth hostel managed by the Junta de Andalucía and turned into a detention center for irregular immigrants, many of them in quarantine due to coronavirus, and from which some of the internees have already escaped making clear the consequences of an irresponsible immigration policy ”.
For his part, the Vox parliamentarian for Granada, Francisco José Ocaña, has asked the Andalusian Government for explanations, assuring that “more than 9,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in Andalusia so far this year. And now, our community also becomes a target for those who have come to the Canary Islands. Granada or Seville are being the main destinations ».
"It is not received that the second region most punished by illegal immigration is now also the main destination of those immigrants who enter the Canary Islands irregularly, we are not going to allow the Junta de Andalucía to fall into the indolence of the Government", Francisco José Ocaña has pointed out.
