The acting Minister of Labor, Migration and Social Security has met with the Secretary General of the United Nations to address issues of common interest and monitor the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Agenda2030.

Both have agreed that the common concerns are climate change and the just transition, technological changes derived from digitalization and the need to advance in new forms of social protection and lifelong learning.

Minister Valerio has transmitted to Guterres the effort and commitment of the Spanish Government to sustainable growth and decent employment.

"Spain is convinced that it is important to explain in international forums such as those held these days in New York the action taken by the Government of Spain this year, an action marked by the SDGs," said Valerio Guterres.

"We are here to defend once again that decent work and inclusive growth are not an option, they are an obligation that all governments must work on", said the minister.
