The UEFA Executive Committee has met by video conference and has announced the schedule for the resumption of its competitions. The second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League between Manchester City and Real Madrid It will be played on August 7 or 8. Depending on how the pandemic evolves by COVID-19, the meeting will be held in the English city or in Portugal, in which case it would take place at the Do Dragao stadium (Porto) or the Alfonso Henriques (Guimarães).

In the following rounds the format of the Champions League will be changed, since the quarterfinals and semifinals will be played in a single match in Lisbon. The quarterfinals will be held between August 12 and 15 and the semifinals on August 18 and 19 of that month. The final will also take place in the Portuguese capital on Sunday August 23.

All matches will be held at 9:00 pm and five changes will be allowed in each match. In its statement, UEFA specifies that "the situation will be regularly assessed across the continent and will contact local authorities to see when viewers could gradually return."
