The businessman and current general secretary of CEIM, Miguel Garrido de la Cierva, is the only candidate who chooses to preside over the Madrid employers, so on June 18, at the General Assembly, he will take over from Juan Pablo Lázaro, who He had already advanced his intention not to appear again.

Miguel Garrido de la Cierva has an important career in the business and associative world. In 1985 he founded Viajes ECO, a company that currently has twenty workers. He has been President of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Madrid (AJE Madrid), of the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (CEAJE) and of the Ibero-American Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (CIJE). In addition, he was part of the Board of Directors of CEIM from 1993 to 1998, and of the Board of Directors of the CEOE, from 1998 to 2000.

Likewise, in the Government of the Community of Madrid, he has been Deputy Minister of Employment and Economy and Technological Innovation, as well as Minister of the Environment. He also held the Presidency of Canal de Isabel II, and was Managing Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid for nine years.

He is currently a Number Academician of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and holds the position of General Secretary of CEIM.
