The Minister of Economy and Business, Nadia Calviño, participated this Thursday in the closing of the Forum Trends 2019, organized by the newspaper El País and the consultant Kreab. Also on the day was King Felipe VI and the main executives of Prisa, Kreab, Telefónica, Ferrovial, Repsol, and Bankia.
Minister Nadia Calviño has indicated that the growth of Spain is maintained: "Economic growth is robust, superior to that expected for the European average and for most of the economies around us." Thus, he explained that the moderation is consistent with the forecasts for the European Union or the euro zone and that since 2015 the “upward” and “positive” trend of the economy has been “moderating”.
In addition, Nadia Calviño has opted for an “ambitious project” that provides short-term solutions to the high unemployment rate, low quality of employment and low productivity gains, while laying the foundations in the medium and long term for the Spanish economy to have a “sustainable growth”. In this regard, the Minister of Economy and Business has indicated that Spain must pay attention to the great changes that the world is experiencing and take advantage of the opportunities that are presented in a more integrated, globalized, technified and digitalized society.
