The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has begun, for the seventh consecutive year, a new edition of the summer camps # AlimentosdEspaña, so that children aged between 6 and 12 years discover the valuable cultural heritage that supposes Mediterranean diet.
The Summer Camps that have already begun, will be developed until the first of September at the El Caserío de Henares Environmental Education Center in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid); in the Canteras Youth Center in Cartagena (Murcia) and in the Río Gallego Training Center in Zaragoza.
The activities, which have been designed by experts in leisure and scientific dissemination, have as main objective to make known the basic pillars of the Mediterranean diet, as well as to encourage the practice of physical exercise, a healthy lifestyle and learning English. All of them differentiated for each cycle of Primary Education, thus adapting to the ages of the participants.
In the hands of chefs, nutritionists and bilingual free time instructors, they learn to prepare their own recipes with Mediterranean products.
To reinforce this knowledge, games in English and outdoor sports activities are included.
Likewise, they enjoy days in the nature in the places near the different locations where the camps take place, knowing the flora and fauna of the area.
