06-September-2019.- National Police agents rescued yesterday a baby who had been accidentally locked inside a car parked in the sun in Avila. The girl, only 13 months old, had been trapped in the vehicle for half an hour and was visibly heated. After the call to 091 on the part of his grandmother, the agents quickly went to the place and managed to remove the child by breaking a window.

The events took place around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday when a woman, in an evident state of nervousness, asked the agents for help because her granddaughter, in an oversight, had seized the vehicle's key ring and had activated the closure in the moment when the woman had gotten out of it. In the first instance, the lady tried to contact her children by telephone so that they would come to help her, but they were far from the place. With the passage of time the girl began to sweat excessively and cry due to the temperature that the car, dark in color, was reaching when it was parked in full sun.

Upon the arrival of the agents, a few minutes after the call, the woman stood by the window watching the girl from outside and trying by all means to open the car. After assessing the situation, the police decided to break the driver's window, as it was the furthest from the baby's location, and managed to safeguard the girl. In addition, an ambulance that carried out a medical examination of the child was also requested.
