July 29, 2019– Agents of the National Police have intervened 2,200 kilos of hashish and weapons of war, ammunition and with several spare chargers, to an organization based in Murcia. Seven people have been arrested and four searches have been made, all in the province of Murcia. The group was specialized in rollovers, which consists of posing as police officers to steal the drug from other organizations, a very profitable activity because the crime is rarely reported.
The group was made up of Spanish, Moroccan, Italian and British citizens
The investigations began last January with the collaboration of the British NCA, the liaison officer and the liaison magistrate of the Italian Police in Spain, focusing on a group based in Alicante and Murcia and composed of Spanish, Moroccan, Italian citizens and british This organization dedicated to the export of marijuana and hashish to countries in Europe, mainly to Italy, used trucks on behalf of a company based in the Region of Murcia to distribute the narcotic substance.
The criminal group was storing the drug, either in industrial buildings located in polygons with the purpose of masking their activities with the usual evolution of transport companies; or in chalets with garages located in residential areas to have greater surveillance and security.
They manipulated the fuel tank to store the drug
Once they had agreed the sale, they manipulated the fuel tank of the trucks to store the drug in hidden compartments and to distribute it by the different routes, especially towards Italy and, sometimes, to the United Kingdom. These hiding places were carried out in such an efficient way that, even having passed fuel checks on roads, the tank where the narcotic was found had not been noticed.
The agents, after learning of the modus operandi of the detainees and after the conclusion of the appropriate checks, detected that they had hidden a significant amount of hashish in a home and in an industrial building located in an industrial estate of Molina de Segura (Murcia) until later distribution.
When the organization prepared to take out the merchandise, the police device for the seizure of the drug and the arrest of the members of the group involved were initiated. Seven people have been arrested and in the four searches carried out in Molina de Segura (Murcia) two guns, two rifles, a modified detonator gun, numerous loaders and ammunition boxes, four cars, three tractor units, two geolocation devices have been seized , two packaging machines, two sealers, a die cutting machine and two frequency inhibitors. Until now, the proceedings have been kept secret so as not to harm the closure of the investigation.
