12-august-2019.- National Police agents have dismantled a distribution center for narcotic substances located in an occupied dwelling in Maresme. The investigation, which began thanks to citizen collaboration through an anonymous complaint, has allowed agents to arrest three people and intervene in an arsenal of weapons, including 13 firearms and 21 large white weapons . Those arrested occupied a property located in Pineda de Mar (Barcelona) illegally and used it as a center for drug cultivation and distribution. In addition, the electricity needed to power the home was taken fraudulently and precariously, with the consequent risk to neighboring homes.
The citizen collaboration gave the first clues
The investigation began thanks to an anonymous complaint received through the web portal https://www.policia.es/colabora.php that the National Police makes available to citizens to communicate, confidentially, facts or situations that could initiate investigations into allegedly criminal acts. In this way, the complaint received gave account of the existence of a drug sales center located in Pineda de Mar (Barcelona). Once the information provided was verified, the agents verified on the ground that said domicile was frequented by drug addicts who entered and left within a few minutes of the interior of the house, after having made the purchase of the corresponding dose. This movement of people had generated in the area a growing climate of insecurity caused by frequent disputes and brawls that occurred among drug addicts themselves.
The first investigations confirmed that it was an occupied dwelling in which its inhabitants, presumably, would be responsible for the small-scale sale and distribution of various types of narcotic substances. In the same way, and with the consequent risk that this generates, they would have taken the current through an illegal hook to the power line.
An arsenal of weapons intervened in housing
The agents practiced the registration of said property and intervened 530 grams of marijuana, 71 amphetamine tablets, 23 grams of MDMA, 38 grams of hashish and 1500 euros in cash. In addition, they also seized five precision scales, a large number of weapons – including 13 firearms and 21 white weapons – and numerous ammunition. Among the intervened firearms, there are five long weapons of different calibers and marks, three semi-long weapons, four revolvers – two of them of compressed air -, a compressed air gun, an extensible defense, a flare gun and a wooden frame crossbow. On the other hand, among the localized white weapons are seven Catalan type swords, five saber type swords, three machete swords and six blade knives of less than 25 cm. In the operation, a total of three people were held as the maximum responsible for the property.
