Only VOX proposes that Europe finance broadband in the province of Zaragoza. The Plenary of the DPZ rejects a proposal put forward by deputy Carlos Rodrigo.
In this proposal, the VOX deputy proposed fiscal and economic aid for the Telecommunications companies of the province of Zaragoza. The objective, as Carlos Rodrigo pointed out, was that they could meet the objective set by the European Digital Agenda. And thus, benefit individuals, companies and municipalities of this province and avoid depopulation.
But the result of the vote counted on the refusal of the majority of political forces in the Diputación, PSOE, IU, UNIDAS PODEMOS and CS, as well as the abstention of the PP, that such aid exists.
Carlos Rodrigo proposed that a calendar be set to favor the gradual and effective implementation of Internet connections. And thus fulfill the European Digital Agenda. An Agenda, which for this fiscal year 2020, sees it necessary for 100% of the population to have access to the Internet, at least 30 Mbps.
According to studies by the European Commission, a 10% increase in broadband penetration leads to GDP growth of between 1% and 1.5% in the national, local and regional economy. VOX DPZ considers that talking about the Network today is talking about all the socio-economic development possibilities of a country.
