Pablo Casado se reúne con organizaciones profesionales agrarias (OPAS)

The president of the Popular Party, Pablo Casado, together with the vice secretary of Sectorial of the PP, Elvira Rodríguez and the spokeswoman for Agriculture of the GPP in Congress, Milagros Marcos, have held today, in Congress, a meeting with the professional agricultural organizations ASAJA , UPA and COAG.

The meeting was attended by the president of the Agricultural Association of Young Farmers (ASAJA), Pedro Barato, the general secretary of the Union of Small Farmers (UPA), Lorenzo Ramos, and the general secretary of the Coordinator of Organizations (COAG), Miguel White, accompanied by others responsible for their respective associations.

During the meeting, the OPAS have transferred to the president of the PP their concern about the serious situation that is going through the field and that has resulted in a calendar of mass mobilizations, for a month now and to which the OPAS come together, because of the discomfort caused by the inaction of the Government.

Thus, the OPAS have transferred to the popular the need to implement a plan of shock of urgent measures, as well as structural reforms of more scope. The PP has committed to study in depth their requests and transform them into parliamentary initiatives. The PP has reiterated its commitment and support to the Spanish countryside and the agri-food sector.

The president of the PP reminded them that yesterday, during the meeting he held with the president of the Government, he transferred the total support of the PP to negotiate the budget of the CAP for the next period (2021-2027), in the European Council that It starts this Thursday, February 20, as well as tariffs, in favor of our farmers and ranchers. In the same way, it asks to reduce labor, fiscal and energy costs. With the PP agricultural income rose 40%, with the PSOE has already dropped 9%, it has concluded.
