He asks the minister to “not lie, stop giving different versions and comply with Galicians and with the commitments made with Galicia”
The senator of the Popular Group for Pontevedra, Pilar Rojo, has called on the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos, to “specify the date of completion of the works of the AVE to Galicia and its commissioning”.
During the debate of an interpellation of the PP on the degree of execution of the different infrastructure projects that affect Galicia and that are contemplated in the General State Budgets for 2018, Pilar Rojo has asked Ábalos to “not lie, stop giving different versions and comply with the Galicians and with the commitments acquired with Galicia ”.
The popular senator has assured that “we are in March 2020 and the political agreement that marked the end of 2019 as the date for the completion of the works and the start of the AVE tests” has not been complied with, so she has asked the Minister that ends the "uncertainty that affects the arrival of the AVE to Galicia".
In addition, Rojo has reproached the Minister of Transportation that, during his recent appearance in Congress, "not only did he not clear any doubts, but he confirmed that this would be a lost legislature for infrastructure investment."
On the other hand, the senator of the PP has referred to the "progressive and alarming deterioration" of the conventional rail service in Galicia, with constant breakdowns, lack of machinists, non-existent passenger service protocols and the suppression of the ticket sales service in some seasons.
"How can the Socialist Government talk about solutions to reverse empty Spain, when at the same time they are reducing services in small town halls? He has asked the minister, while saying that infrastructure investments" are very much needed in my land".
AP TRANSFER 9
Likewise, Pilar Rojo has highlighted the importance of the AP 9 for the Community of Galicia, “being the main communication hub that connects five of the big cities, vertebrates 60% of the Galician population and 80% of its economic activity".
Therefore, the senator of the Popular Group has reminded Minister Ábalos that the transfer of the AP 9 has been claimed by the Autonomous Parliament up to three times and has reproached his “ambiguous” responses to this request.
"If the Government really wants to demonstrate a real sensitivity to this demand, it should be borne in mind that Galicians will not be able to accept a transfer that is not accompanied by the commitments acquired and that does not involve extra expenses for Galicia," he said.
Rojo has also referred to highway tolls and reminded the minister that while the AP 9 will face increases, other highways will no longer be paid. "In addition to unfair, you will understand that it is unacceptable and discriminatory," he said.
PORT INFRASTRUCTURES
In relation to port infrastructure, Pilar Rojo has claimed “equal treatment” with the Galician port authorities, and has ensured that the socialist government “is discriminating against Galicia by forgiving the debt of 300 million euros from the port of Valencia and not doing the same with the Galician ports ”.
"You are Valencian and you will want the best for your land," he told Ábalos, "but I ask you to also worry and be equally generous with Galicia and the rest of the Autonomous Communities."
Finally, the senator of the PP for Pontevedra has pointed out the need to undertake other vital infrastructure for the Community of Galicia, such as the Vigo-Porriño highway; the northern ring road of Ourense; the completion of the highway between Lugo and Ourense; the Pontevedra-Norte link, as well as its ring road, among other works.
