1.4 million euros will be allocated to work to mitigate the effects of the fires declared on June 28.

The acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has provided support to the autonomous communities of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León to collaborate in the hydrological-forest restoration actions of the lands affected by the forest fires declared on June 28 in various municipal terms, with a total investment of 1,400,000 euros.

The execution of these works, which will require prior declaration of emergency, aims to minimize, as far as possible, erosion and other unfavorable effects after fires, and the recovery of damaged habitats.

To this end, emergency works will be undertaken in the municipal areas of Cenicientos, Cadalso de los Vidrios and Las Rozas de Puerto Real in Madrid, where the Ministry will invest 500,000 euros. The same amount will also be used for restoration work in the town. of Almorox in Toledo and in the vicinity of that city.

Luis Planas has also expressed willingness to participate in the restoration of the areas of Gavilanes and Pedro Bernardo (Ávila), on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Gredos, with a contribution of 400,000 euros.

With these investments, the Government contributes to meet the most urgent needs, collaborating in the work aimed at mitigating the effects of fires, collaborating with the regional administrations, for the restoration of the most seriously affected areas.
