The #ViajaSeguro campaign, which the MAUC usually presents annually, puts this year a renewed and convinced emphasis on the digital and audiovisual dimension and will be configured in the future as one of the main lines of communication and diplomacy of the Ministry.

#ViajaSeguro consists of thirteen short audiovisual pieces, direct and concise that will be disseminated in the social networks of the Ministry and its entire network of Embassies and Consulates and that aim to raise awareness among more than 19 million people who travel abroad from Spain during the year and 2.7 million people of Spanish nationality who habitually live abroad from Spain and travel during their holidays on the convenience of adopting a series of measures:

Enroll in the MAUC Travelers Registry. One of the key elements of the campaign is the launch of the Travelers Registry application, already available on the iOS and Android platforms and whose information can be found at the following link: https://registroviajeros.exteriores.gob.es. This application allows citizens to register on their trips, indicating their contact and travel data, and, in this way, have a direct and intuitive access to the Travel Recommendations of the Ministry and alerts in cases of emergency. It is an application developed and promoted by the Ministry in its desire to improve consular service and attention and to make both easier, simpler and more accessible.

Hire travel insurance as comprehensive and complete as possible to address the mishaps that may occur, such as health problems, accidents, legal assistance, cancellation, cancellation, theft or loss of luggage.

Read carefully the Travel Recommendations published and periodically updated by the Ministry and the basic information about documentation requirements, passports and visas, both its validity and its renewal, know the legislation of the country of destination and be aware of the aggravated dangers which may involve activities such as drug use, certain sexual practices, risky sports or driving abroad.

In addition to this information campaign, the MAUC works throughout the year with various instruments to avoid and minimize possible risks. On your website http://www.exteriores.gob.es It offers consular information of interest for Spanish colectivity residing abroad or that is occasionally outside Spain, especially through Travel Recommendations. The Ministry is also present in social networks, with two accounts on Twitter – one in Spanish, @MAECgob, and another in English, @ SpainMFA-, on Facebook -@exteriores.maec-, on Instagram -@exteriores.maec- and on Youtube -canalmaectv-. In addition, practically all of the Representations and the vast majority of Consulates are present on social networks and usually disseminate relevant consular information through them.

This informative work is completed with the service "Spain with you", Which allows sending an SMS to the mobile phone when traveling abroad, indicating the emergency telephone number of the consular office closest to the arrival location. It is a service in collaboration with Telefónica and Orange.
