The Contracting Committee of Turespaña has provisionally awarded the Acciona company the rehabilitation works for the Castle and the Almudaina de Dalt Vila, which will house the future Parador de Turismo de Ibiza.
On April 26, the Council of Ministers authorized Turespaña -scribed to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism- the contracting for 21.1 M € of the works of the Parador de Ibiza, which had been paralyzed for eight years. A dozen companies have participated in the bidding process. Acciona must present the documentation required to approve the final award, which will take place, at least, within two months.
The future Parador will have seventy-two rooms distributed in the set of buildings that make up the castle grounds and the Almudaina. In addition, it will incorporate an interpretation center, an outdoor pool with solarium, a multifunctional room and an underground parking of forty seats, among other services.
For the acting Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Oliver, "the future Parador will boost the business fabric and offer a new perspective of Ibiza's tourist activity, more diversified, sustainable in the long term and with greater profitability".
