The PP has proposed today, in the Committee of Petitions of the European Parliament, to carry out an investigation mission in Spain to clarify 379 murders of the ETA terrorist band that are still unsolved.

The proposal has not been approved by not having the vote in favor of the socialist group and the Renew group, to which Citizens in the European Parliament belong.

The European People's Group and the ECR group voted in favor of this proposal, which was that one of the four missions that the Petitions Commission will carry out during 2020 in different EU countries will be dedicated to Spain and the unsolved crimes of ETA.

The PP spokeswoman in the European Parliament and president of the Committee on Petitions, Dolors MontserratHe has deeply regretted the result of today's vote: “It is bad news, we must do everything possible from the Petitions Commission to alleviate the pain of the families of the victims of ETA, and one way of doing so is to clarify the crimes” .

"We have an obligation to demand justice, truth, memory and dignity for the victims of ETA," he added.

"From the Spanish and European PP we will continue to work intensely to defend the victims of terrorism in Spain and Europe," said Dolors Montserrat.
