It was inaugurated in 2002 and has a capacity of more than 70,000 spectators.

The Real Madrid 2019/20 will debut at the NRG Stadium in Houston. It will be the first time that whites play in this stadium, with a capacity for more than 70,000 spectators, and the second time they visit this city. The first took place in 1967 and the expectation was maximum since 35,000 fans enjoyed the game against West Ham United and two Mexican television channels broadcast it live.

The stadium where the Whites will face Bayern, in the European football classic, on July 21 at 2:00 a.m. (July 20, 7:00 p.m.), was inaugurated in August 2002. It is the headquarters of the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL) and also hosts annually the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest livestock exhibition in the world. In fact, the average number of spectators is more than 2 million per year.

Retractable roof

The NRG Stadium is the first in the history of the NFL with retractable roof, which can be opened or closed in just 7 minutes. Among the most outstanding football events that it has hosted are the Concacaf Gold Cup (2011 and 2019) and the Copa America Centenario that was played in 2017. On the other hand, here the Super Bowl was played in 2004 and in 2017.
