The number of unemployed registered in the offices of the Public Employment Services (SEPE) has decreased by 146,476 people compared to the same month of the previous year, with a year-on-year reduction rate of 4.63%.
With regard to the month of May, unemployment has decreased by 63,805 people in June, which represents a decrease of 2.07%, in relation to the previous month. The total number of unemployed people stood at 3,015,686 people, the lowest cifa since November 2008.
In seasonally adjusted terms, unemployment rose in June to 8,986 people compared to the month of May.
Male unemployment in June fell by 32,756 people compared to May and stood at 1,218,056 people. Female unemployment has decreased by 31,049 people and stands at 1,797,630 people. If we compare it with the month of June 2018, male unemployment has dropped by 77,296 people and female unemployment has fallen by 69,180.
On the other hand, the unemployment of young people under 25 has been reduced in June by 15,970 people compared to the previous month, while unemployment among people aged 25 and over has dropped by 47,835.
Registered unemployment has declined in all the Autonomous Communities, among which stand out: Catalonia (-13.819), Castilla y León (-7.169) and Madrid (-6.523).
By economic sectors of origin of workers, registered unemployment has been reduced in all except Agriculture. The largest percentage decrease occurs in the group Without Previous Employment, with 7,994 fewer unemployed, followed by the Services sector, with 51,752 fewer unemployed; Industry, 5,808 unemployed less (-2.17%) and Construction, with a decrease of 4,066 unemployed. In Agriculture, unemployment has increased by 5,815 people.
Number of contracts
Last June, 2,009,011 contracts were registered. Of these, 174,159 are contracts of an indefinite nature, another 1,823,177 are temporary and 11,675 of a training nature.
The indefinite contracts of June are divided, as far as the duration of their day, into 103,531 full-time and 70,628 part-time.
Benefits
The coverage rate of the protection system reached 60.1% in May of this year, which represents an increase of 4.1 percentage points in relation to the same month of 2018.
The number of beneficiaries stood at the end of May at 1,745,593, 1.7% more than in the same month of 2018.
The amount of the unemployment benefits payroll amounted to 1,457.5 million euros, 8.5% more than in the same month of 2018.
