Reyes Maroto places SMEs as the center and engine of the economic recovery


Reyes Maroto recalled the work of the Government in the implementation of measures to support the industrial fabric, and has positively valued the dialogue "sincere, constructive and ambitious with the administrations, as well as with economic and social agents, which allows us to improve our proposals and coordinate them with the European guidelines ".

He also mentioned the Strategic Framework for SME Policy 2030, approved in 2019, to boost entrepreneurship, innovation, digitization, sustainability and talent: "Recovery will only be possible if SMEs return to the path of growth. So they must be at the center of recovery. "

He has also highlighted the work of promotion through internationalization, digitization, sustainability and financial support, as well as the reinforcement of institutional and commercial relations to reposition Spain and its companies in a preferred place. "We must support our companies in their effort to overcome this difficult situation and adapt to the new scenario to strengthen their competitive position, increase the resilience of our economy, accelerate digitization and strengthen the weight of our industrial fabric," said Maroto; SMEs of all sizes, in all sectors, of any age, more or less technological or digital, are configured as the recovery engine. "

Then, the Secretary General for Industry and SMEs, Raül Blanco, and the Director General for Industry and SMEs, Galo Gutiérrez, explained the measures adopted by the Government to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on small businesses and freelancers.
