The acting Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, has visited the facilities of two of the main Spanish companies established in the industrial park of Kunshan, in the area of ​​influence of Shanghai.

The minister first visited the headquarters of Corporación Mondragón, where she was received by the president of Mondragón Internacional, Óscar Goitia, and toured the facilities of Orkli, Mondragón Assembly and Batz.

In his speech before the heads of the Corporation, Maroto expressed his pride in having a leading group in Spain and in the world: "For Spain and for the Basque Country, Mondragón is where you have to look at yourself, the world changes and you have to adapt, and the group is an example of how to transfer success to a market like China, keep growing and remain a responsible company, which does things well. " He also expressed his commitment both to Mondragón and to the internationalization of the Spanish company, in order to remain well positioned in the Chinese market: "Public-private cooperation makes us stronger," he added.

Later he attended the act of laying the first stone of the new Mondragón Assembly plant, which was also attended by the Ambassador of Spain in China, Rafael Dezcallar, the general director of International Trade and Investment, Paz Ramos, the general director of the Chamber of Spain, Inmaculada Riera, and local authorities of Qiandeng and Kunshan.

Mondragón Group has nine international corporate delegations, one hundred and twenty-five production plants abroad (twenty in China) and commercial presence throughout the world. Among the cooperatives operating in China are Orkli Kunshan, a world leader in the manufacture and sale of thermoelectric safety components, Batz Automotive System, which offers services and products such as dies and systems for the automotive industry, renewable energy and thermo-space, and Mondragón Assembly, specialized in the development of automation and assembly solutions for sectors such as solar, automotive, appliance components, cosmetics, medical devices and electronic components.

Before taking a trip to Hefei, Maroto visited the Gestamp plant, a Spanish multinational leader in the design, development and manufacture of highly engineered metallic components for the main automobile manufacturers. The Kunshan factory is one of eleven that Gestamp currently has in China.

This Wednesday, the minister will visit the facilities of the companies JAC Motors and Guoxuan Hig Tech.
