The president of Cs assures that the liberal formation will make 'a firm opposition to the Government but loyal to the Spaniards and with sense of State'

"Citizens will monitor that the Government of Sanchez and its partners do not crush the middle class with taxes or make transfers to nationalists or skip the Constitution," said the president of Citizens (Cs), Albert Rivera, who stressed that the Liberal formation will defend its reforms from the opposition and will make "a firm but loyal opposition to the Spaniards and with a sense of state".

Rivera, in a press conference at the Congress after meeting with King Felipe VI at the Palace of La Zarzuela, explained that he has transferred to the monarch what he has been showing for the past months: if Citizens could not govern, he would not support the investiture of Pedro Sánchez but would make a firm opposition.

In this sense, Rivera has stressed that Cs "is a State project, a project of Spain and a project of opposition to the Government of Sanchez and his nationalist partners." The leader of the liberal training has also called on the acting chief executive to "for the good of the country form Government with its partners, with whom he supported the motion of censure and who governs in municipalities and communities." "Sánchez is responsible for the formation of a government and it is he who has to seek support," said Rivera.
