It also emphasizes that month by month the year-on-year growth in the number of retirement pensions, 6,089,294, which this month drops to 1.58%, the lowest rate registered in recent years, is moderating. Social Security pays 2,366,788 widow's pensions; 962,035, for permanent disability; 340,106, of orphanhood and 43,156, in favor of family members.
The average pension of the System, which includes the different classes (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favor of family members), is 995.76 euros per month. Specifically, the average retirement pension amounts to 1,143.55 euros per month and the widow's pension stands at 714.98 euros. As for the new discharges, the average retirement pension (November) is 1,291.91 euros in the whole system.
The monthly payroll of contributory pensions totaled 9,759,800, which translates into an interannual increase of 4.74%, a value that has been moderating since the beginning of the year.
The number of members per pensioner amounted to 2.33 on average in November, the latest data published by Social Security.
